Salted Caramel Fried Banana French Toast with Cold Brew Caramel Iced Macchiato
Yeah, you read that right. Here’s how to make whoever’s around to eat it worship the ground on which you cook:
First, make yourself some Salted Caramel Sauce.
- 1 can coconut milk (full-fat variety)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp. real maple syrup
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp. sea salt
Add ingredients to a medium sauce pan. Cook on high, stirring frequently, until the mixture begins to boil. Lower heat until just bubbling. Stir frequently until thick (about 15 minutes). Let cool. Save time the morning of and make this the night before.
Next cook your Fried Bananas.
- 2 bananas
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- A pinch of salt
Cut the bananas into slices 3/4 to 1-inch thick. Add butter to a frying pan on medium high heat. Add the bananas and cook for a minute or two until they brown. Turn each piece and brown the other side. Stir in the sugar and the cinnamon, and set aside.
Now prepare some French toast. Your favorite recipe will do just fine!
Top your toast with the bananas and drizzle on the caramel. Serve with one of these:
Cold Brew Caramel Iced Macchiato

Fill a tall glass with ice. Pour in coffee until it fills about three quarters of the glass. Add almond milk to taste and the caramel. Stir. Sigh. Savor.
